Cancer & Solidarity Foundation was incorporated in Switzerland in 1991 on the initiative of Thierry F. Ador and Olivier Ador. The Foundation is recognised as a non profit organization.
Its purpose is to raise funds and make them available directly to researchers in Switzerland and abroad. Directly because these are the individuals who find cures and solutions.
When awarding grants, the Foundation generally favours scientists up to the age of forty. Why this age limit? Because it is often youthful researchers who have the greatest difficulty in obtaining financial support from institutional donors, even though they need it the most.
The donations received by the Foundation are distributed to researchers either in the form of direct donations or as capitalised donations. The Foundation's operating costs, which are kept to an absolute minimum, are covered by special contributions independent of donations.
